Hello,
I am trying to narrow down the age and artist on this painting. Some things to note about it is the varnish is turning brown and under a loop the oil paint shows full craquelure,..
But, the canvas on board question... How old are they? This piece was reframed under dust paper (the nail imprints are clearly visible, but it was held by push points in reframe) so, I am not getting aging evidence on the back paper.. I think the artist clearly has a Monet style, but again, Monet passed in 1926, was this board old enough??
I am having so much fun with researching this....
